Rebecca Jones has a history of not telling the truth for political convenience. Here are examples of her falsehoods:
Lie No. 1
• July 9, 2024, Rebecca Jones voted to approve a tax increase measure, sending it to the ballot.
• December 9, 2025 Rebecca Jones submitted a signed, certified statement to elected members of the Republican Party where she lied about raising taxes. When asked “Have you ever in the past or would you ever in the future consider supporting a tax increase or putting one on the ballot?” Jones lied by answering, “No.”
Lie No. 2
• In fact, she voted to raise taxes just the year before, and if that wasn’t bad enough, just 3 days later, she voted to raise taxes again!
• December 12, 2025, Jones voted to support two separate sales tax increase measures as the funding mechanism for the SANDAG Regional Transportation Plan, including a 3/4 cent County-wide sales tax.
• December 17, 2025 Jones was confronted for lying on her signed statement. She admitted that she had answered untruthfully and promised to correct her statement before it was forwarded to the full committee, but she never corrected it.
Lie No. 3
• February 9, 2026 Jones allowed 60 days to pass after being confronted for lying and pledging to correct her dishonest answer. She never corrected her sworn statement, and instead allowed it to be transmitted with her certification to the full committee.
Lie No. 4
On February 12, Jones blatantly lied in an email to her supporters about the vote count of a meeting of the Republican Party of San Diego County. Rebecca Jones circulated a factually false statement, indicating that the Republican Party “Rejected” John Franklin.
In reality, 28 party members voted to endorse Franklin, while only 20 voted to endorse Jones.
