Rebecca Jones is a “Republican in Name Only” who breaks with core conservative values like opposing tax hikes and balanced budgets. She refused to take a stand on tough issues and only uses the Republican Party for times she views it as politically beneficial to her.
Jones refused to request the endorsement of the Republican Party of San Diego County (RPSDC) when she ran for Mayor in 2022. Jones attacked the Republican Party for opposing San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and turncoat Democrat Brian Maienschein when she learned the voter guide said “San Diego can’t afford 4 more years of Todd Gloria.” She said that pointing out Todd Gloria’s failed record “cheapened and sullied” the voter guide.
